LIFE@TRINITY
Life at Trinity is given order through three words: Worship, Connect, and Serve. God has gifted each of us differently and equipped us with different passions and preferences. With the choices at Trinity we ask that you seek to Worship with the church, Connect with a small group, and Serve in a way God has gifted you once a week. To help make that simpler we place the things we do under the word that best fits that group or activity. Start by choosing one thing from each area.

Youth Minister Search Committee
01
Apr '26

by James Tripp
Over the previous weeks, I have found myself consistently thinking of the story of Esther. More specifically, about Mordecai counseling Esther that maybe she made queen for such a time as this. As the search committee has been meeting and discussing, I cannot help but consider the life experiences that we have as Christ-followers, as volunteers, as mentors, and as mothers and fathers. How those experiences might be for such a time as this.
Over the past several weeks, the search committee has met to lay a foundation for this process. The position has been posted on the Trinity Baptist website. We invited the church to participate in a survey to help us understand other perspectives on the needs of your youth and the qualities and characteristics to look for in a minister. We have developed a questionnaire that will be sent to prospective candidates after reviewing their resumes.
We are now in the process of reviewing and evaluating resumes we have received, working to identify a pool of qualified applicants to reach out to. Our goal during this process will be to move prayerfully and intentionally.
During this time, we would ask for your support by continuing to pray with us at 7:00. Praise God knowing he is in control. Pray for our youth and their families as they navigate an in-between time. Pray for our ministerial staff, their teams, and TSM volunteers as they take on more or different tasks. Pray for our future student minister as God prepares a life transition for them.
Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and trust. We look forward to sharing more updates throughout this process and to seeing how God continues to shape the future of our church.

TBC/TXM Meal Committee
01
Apr '26

by Krystle Ramsay
The TBCK/TXM Meal Committee has had the privilege of preparing and serving meals for our Texans on Mission (TXM) volunteers each month. Since the tragedy of July 4th, TBCK has hosted groups of volunteers called to help in the restoration of the Texas Hill Country. These wonderful volunteers travel a great distance to help families rebuild their homes and lives. In partnering with TXM, our church provides lodging and homecooked meals for these volunteers.
It has been a joy to serve in this capacity. Our committee of wonderful men and women take great pride in preparing and serving breakfast and dinner. We have opportunities to fellowship with them as they share their stories of their time here. Likewise, they are always curious to hear our own personal stories of that tragic day.
July 4, 2025, will forever be a day all etched in our memory. We were all affected in some way. I am not one who believes everything happens for a reason. However, I do know this to be true: ‘God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose’ (Romans 8:28). My 7-year-old son lost his best friend in the flood. The tragedy and grief have been difficult for him to process. At a young age he has learned that bad things happen; disappointments are inevitable but how we respond matters.
This is one of the reasons we said yes when asked to serve. We get front row seats to witness God’s restoration in the lives of our community and those who are called to serve. We recently welcomed a college group from UT. Even after a long day of working, they would come into the kitchen and ask how they could help. It blessed my mama’s heart to spend time with this next generation of young people answering God’s call for their lives. We are continually blessed by the fruits of all those who labor, including our own team. Sue Stewart is one I can always count on when we have a group come in. She is the first to volunteer and serve. Alexa, Diane, and Charlie are others who have consistently jumped in. I am so grateful for this group of folks who have been the hands and feet of Jesus.

Growing Young Fitness
01
Apr '26

by Dawna Hill
Every generation has had its fitness gurus and gadgets: Jack LaLanne, Denise Austin, Richard Simmons, Jillian Michaels, thigh master, Peloton, treadmills, aerobics and those awful 80s neon leotards!
Is there a spiritual connection?
The Bible doesn’t prescribe the perfect fitness workout, but it does encourage believers to care for their “temple” (1Corinthians 6:19-20, 1 Thessalonians 5:23).
Growing Young Fitness is an adult chair-based exercise class that meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00–10:00 AM. The class is open to everyone, and participants are encouraged to attend as they are able and engage at their own comfort level.
Each session begins with a Bible verse and a brief prayer. The class follows the Growing Young Fitness DVD program, which offers a variety of 15- and 30-minute workouts focused on balance, core strength, foundation, and overall fitness. Participants may modify or skip any exercise that causes discomfort.
The group offers a welcoming atmosphere, providing both physical activity and meaningful fellowship. While attendance has so far been primarily women, men are welcome. The program has been beneficial to many—including helping me personally lose 25 pounds.
We invite you to come and see what the class is all about. We would be glad to have you join us.

For the Journey – April 2026

Apr '26

This month we celebrate the events that transform the world, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. At Trinity Baptist Church, we pray for the Muslim to receive Jesus all year but especially during Ramadan. We pray during the Jewish festivals in September for the Jews to come to receive Jesus as Messiah and we pray during the season of Resurrection that all lost will come to hear the truth of the gospel. We also pray that believers in Christ will be renewed in their commitment of making Jesus known as we share in our Holy Spirit empowered assignment.
Our world has been in a mess from the beginning. God has been at work redeeming our brokenness and calling us back to Himself for the same amount of time. Our world seeks answers from sources that can only provide band-aids, whereas God provides our ultimate answer in Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, for the Cross. Thank you, God, for the empty tomb. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for empowering our words and actions. To God be the glory!
Thanks to our Worship Ministry led by Charlie Barganier for another incredible offering of the Victor. Thanks to all who participated in so many different ways from choir, to drama, to technically producing this gospel story, to those who invited others to attend. It is a blessing to be a part of the church that takes seriously the presentation of the gospel in so many ways. When we gather with one focus of sharing the gospel, the Holy Spirit uses our offering to produce fruit in the lives of both believers and not yet believers. Praise God for the many blessings He bestows upon His faithful people.
This month we celebrate JD Templeton’s tenth year as our Minister of Adult Discipleship. He and Kimberly have been so faithful to help lead us in the path of faith while both setting an example and calling us to follow the LORD. We are blessed through JD’s ministry.
We are also blessed by our Youth Minister Search Committee as they are faithfully gathering to help find our next called ministerial staff. They have been diligent in their efforts and prayers as God leads them. Please continue to pray by name for James Tripp, Julie Boles, Barb Bowers, Jesse Hinton, Loretta Keese, Shelby Peschel and Becky Watkins. Commit to pray for our 6 prayer points at 7:00.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

For the Journey – March 2026
01
Mar '26

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16-18
By the time you read this, our 48 Hour Prayer Wall will have concluded but not the ongoing prayers of our church nor the provision granted by our LORD. I am grateful that Trinity is a praying church. Prayer puts us in the position to hear from the LORD as He also hears from us. Prayer helps us to align our walk with His ways. Prayer encourages us that we always have an audience with God because of His love for us in Christ and our salvation in Him. Thank you, Trinity, for praying.
One prayer I have for March is to bring a lot of new people into our church. There will be several weeks in March that we will see numerous people from around Texas, both students and adults, coming to work through Texans on Missions for rebuild. You have been so faithful as a church to share space with others who are lodging in our Bible study rooms during the week. We are so fortunate to have the space God has provided over the years to accommodate such a need and to help provide assistance for our community in such a great way.
We also hope that there will be many who come into our space to experience The Victor this year. On March 27-29, at 7:00 p.m., we will once again share the story of Jesus through the telling of His life, burial and resurrection. Please consider helping to invite our community to experience The Victor with us.
Our Youth Minister Search Committee has identified a special way to pray together as we are looking for our next youth minister. You will see “6 for 7” in several places in communication and around the church. It is simply six specific prayer requests given with the encouragement to join together and pray at 7:00 (a.m/p.m), your choice. God has blessed Trinity Baptist Church with our ministerial staff and we anticipate God’s continued blessing as we add to our team. Thank you, in advance, for joining with us as we journey down this path.
In Christ,

Student Ministry – March 2026
01
Mar '26

The months ahead are filled with energy, laughter, growth, and meaningful moments our students will carry with them long after the season ends. This isn’t just a busy time on the calendar, it’s an important one.
We’ll kick off Spring Break with Fun in the (Morning) Son! Ingram & Harper students will meet on March 10th and Tivy & Center Point students on March 17th, for a morning of pickleball, sunshine, and fellowship, followed by lunch at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. Students will pay for their own lunch and transportation will be provided.
On April 26th, we’ll host our Sweets & S’mores Camp Donation. Students will bring baked goods to offer in exchange for donations, which will help offset the cost of camp this summer. This fundraiser replaces our traditional baked potato offering and gives our students a hands-on way to support their camp experience.
May 17th will be a special milestone as we celebrate our graduating seniors with our High School Graduation Festivities. The morning will begin with a breakfast honoring the students who have grown, served, and led in our ministry. Each senior will also be recognized in all services, and we’ll take a group photo to commemorate the day. It will be a meaningful time of gratitude, reflection, and prayer as we encourage them in their next chapter.
Then comes summer. On July 6–10, we’ll head to Horizon Youth Camp, one of the most anticipated weeks of our year. Camp creates space to step away from distractions and focus on what truly matters. Friendships deepen, worship grows stronger, conversations become more honest, and God moves in powerful ways.
VIP registration is open now through March 1, with regular registration running March 2 through June 29. VIP registration is limited to 25 students and includes special perks.
I am truly excited about what lies ahead and grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside your students in this season of celebration and spiritual growth. The best moments are still to come.

Senior adults ages 55+.
Our MasterWork curriculum from Lifeway, is interactive with scripture references and questions for class discussion. We have an active social committee enabling members to get to know each other on a personal level.
by Truman Martin
For the past 40 plus years, a group of Christian brothers and sisters have been meeting in whatever room was available to study and discuss God’s word. We currently meet in room 121 next to the Family Life Center. Before Covid we averaged about 40 in attendance; Since then, our attendance has been in the lower twenties. We use Masterwork curriculum. Each lesson is written by Biblical scholars or well-known pastors from various states and even foreign countries.
Leaders of our class include a class director, Teaching Leader, and class secretary. The teacher encourages discussion by members and visitors present. Several of the members or visitors respond to questions in our book or posed by the teacher. So while our teacher primarily lectures, based on the content found in our book, which always includes much Scripture from God’s Word.
We have 2 or 3 socials a year usually planned by our social committee and are held at a local restaurant or at a member’s home. Like most Baptist groups, our parties always include food.
Most of our members are around age 70 but some are in their 80’s. Our class is divided into care groups which enables us to stay in touch with each other’s praises and problems. Our class director sends out a prayer list every week which enables us to pray for specific needs of members or their families and friends. The ladies in our class visit two nursing homes and home bound members monthly and then enjoy lunch together. The men meet at a restaurant the second Wednesday each month for prayer and fellowship.
We are very open to new members and encourage you to join us as we seek to praise, honor and bring glory to God.

Women of the Word Class

Teacher: Becky Doyal.
Teacher: Becky Doyal.
Women all ages
We are women of all ages. We hope you will join us for our study from MasterWorks by Lifeway, enhanced with discussion, as we seek to apply God’s word to daily life.
by Janett Wells
The Women of the Word is a delightful group of ladies who care for each other and journey through books of the Bible together. This spring we will be studying Matthew 14-28, using Lifeway’s Explore the Bible series. The women in this class uphold one another with prayer, cards, notes of encouragement, and by visiting those that are unable to attend. Little gifts, big smiles, and thoughtful comments make this class a warm and loving place.
Our teacher, Becky Doyal, does not lecture. She teaches by guiding us through discussions and thought-provoking questions. Our guided conversations help us apply God’s Word to our daily challenges.
Once each quarter we meet up at someone’s house for a potluck and fellowship. The ladies chat, play a couple of games, eat great food, and have fun being together.
Many of the ladies in this class are widows, and we surround women of all ages with love and support. I enjoy being a member of this class because I feel loved, accepted, and motivated to go deeper in my relationship with Christ.
To allow more time for sharing, we meet at 9:30 am (fifteen minutes early) on Sunday mornings in Room 219. Please consider joining us. We would be glad to have you.

Serving at Wylie YWAM
I am part of a ministry called YWAM (Youth With a Mission). We currently have four schools at YWAM Wylie: One school is the Discipleship Training School (DTS). The DTS is a five-month program divided into a three month lecture phase and a two month outreach phase. During the lecture phase, a variety of speakers come and teach on different things in the Bible. The students then go overseas and apply what they have learned. The second school is the School of Ministry Development (SOMD.) This school is for three months. SOMD equips the students to become leaders and teaches them practical ways to learn how to bring missions wherever the Lord calls them. Another school that YWAM Wylie offers is the “Bible School for the Nations”,(otherwise known as (BSN.) This school is six months in length and consists of a four month lecture phase and a two month outreach phase. During the lecture phase, students go through the whole Bible with in-depth learning and teaching in preparation for the outreach phase.

In addition to the schools that YWAM Wylie offers, we also have several local ministries. One of the ministries that we have is a coffee shop. The heart of “Coffee At The Hub” is to build relationships with people in our community and show the love of Christ. All the funds from the coffee shop go back to ministries locally and globally. “Hopes Gate” is our local downtown jewelry store. The “Heart for Hopes Gate” is to offer hope to orphans and adults who are rescued from sex trafficking. All the proceeds go back to the young women and men who make the jewelry items. We have a pregnancy resource center that is called “Hope’s Bridge” and it helps women and teenagers who are pregnant by sharing resources and providing free ultrasounds, as well as other means of support. YWAM also provides classes for single moms and dads and these classes teach them how to parent in a healthy Christian home.
My current roles on staff at YWAM Wylie include the Coffee at the Hub, Evangelism, Hopes Gate, and the kitchen.
I am excited for what The Lord is going to do through all of the students in these schools. It is always fun getting to meet and support the new students.
I want to say thank you so much for your partnering support and for praying for me in this season. I look forward to what God has planned for my future with YWAM Wylie.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.“ Colossians 3:17
