Roots Class – October 2025

by Jessi Kearns

Our Sunday school class is more than just a time of study – it is a space where faith comes alive through honest conversation and thoughtful reflection. Each week, rather than working through a lesson in a traditional format, we strive to dig deeper into Scripture by posing unique and sometimes challenging questions – really exploring the biblical text. These questions spark meaningful conversation and encourage each person to consider how God’s Word was received by the original reader and consider how it applies to our daily life now.

Class discussion is always an open floor. Everyone is invited and encouraged to share insights, experiences, or even doubts, and together we listen and learn from one another. This allows us to see Scripture through many perspectives, and it helps us recognize that God often speaks in new ways through the voices of fellow believers, not just Bible teachers. By creating an atmosphere of respect and curiosity, our class has become a place where both seasoned Bible readers and those newer to the faith feel equally welcome to participate.

Another special aspect of our group is that we occasionally set aside the formal study to simply fellowship together. These gatherings remind us that Christian community is built not only on learning but equally so on genuine relationship. Through these times, we grow closer as a church community – sharing in each other’s joys and challenges and having space to pray for each other as needed.

Roots is about more than gaining biblical knowledge; it is about growing a community where Scripture shapes who we are, and conversation and fellowship shape how we live. We believe that by coming together in this way, we are better equipped to live out our faith and share God’s love with the world.

Navigate – October 2025

What’s next?

Many young adults are asking this question on a daily basis. They have not known life without instant information access. (remember Encyclopedia Britannica, anyone?) Research shows that media consumption provides similar dopamine rushes to those found in drug usage. Is there an answer to this question?

In this setting, our College and Young Adult Ministry seeks to answer the “What’s next?” question with a healthy spiritual life. On Sunday nights this happens at Navigate. This gathering provides a safe environment to ask the toughest questions of life. We encourage one another to do the hard work of spiritual disciplines. We worship through song and study God’s word with an eye toward practical daily application.

Navigate could benefit from “experienced” adults who are willing to pour their lives into these younger adults. Is God calling you to walk alongside young people in college or the work force? Call the Adult Discipleship office today and talk with JD to find your place of service! We have some bright “Navigators” who would love to learn from mature believers.

Our normal schedule is Sundays from 6:00-7:00 pm Pickleball, followed by worship and Bible study at 7:00.

Stitchers for Jesus Celebrate 10 Years

by Cheryll Overla

The Stitchers for Jesus celebrated their 10th Anniversary on September 3rd. Sue Stewart and Marvene Wallace visited a church in Arkansas that had a sewing ministry and after seeing what these ladies were doing, decided they would like to bring the idea home to the Trinity ladies. Ideas were shared, plans were made and soon the group was off and sewing. Of the original group that started, two ladies are still with us: Sue Stewart and Rita McFaddin.  In 10 years of the ministry, about 5000 dresses, many shorts sets, quilts, afghans, baby hats, walker tote bags, adult bibs and COVID face masks were made and distributed to various ministries around the world! As much as we are able to help others, all of the stitchers love this ministry and being able to do the things we love is a huge blessing to all of us.

Men’s Bible Study – September 2025

by Mike Mullens

If you haven’t attended the Trinity Men’s Bible Study in a while or you’ve just recently become a member of our Trinity Baptist fellowship, you will find attending the Trinity Men’s Bible Study a great way to get to know other Christian men as we fellowship and study God’s word together.

The 2025 Fall session of the TBC Men’s Bible Study begins Thursday, September 4th. Class hours are 10:00 a.m. until noon and include a refreshment break about half-way through the class. Materials are free.

The topic for our twelve-week study this fall is Jesus Messiah, Son of God which will take us through a thorough study of Matthew, Mark and Luke. There are some differences between each of these three important New Testament books which we will investigate as we discuss them. The starting point of this class will be Jesus is without question the most Important man who has ever walked on this planet. He alone was all God and all man and now sits on the right hand of God the Father for all eternity. So, it encourages everyone who professes their faith in Him as the Son of God to discover everything we can about Him. Our study of these three Gospels will help all of us get to know Him better.
