Stronger Together

May '25

by Shelby Peschel
Recently I started wearing a weighted vest while walking – health professionals claim this will increase muscle strength and bone density; my kids claim I look embarrassing. As an avid walker, I figured that I was in decent shape, but putting on that weighted vest sure made me realize otherwise. I needed to get stronger.
The same can be true in our spiritual lives – we think we are doing a decent job, but not until stress is added do we realize our need to be stronger. So, how do we get spiritually stronger? One way is daily study of God’s Word, in particular with the ladies of Trinity’s Women’s Bible Study (WBS). With each Bible study, we add weight to our faith and our knowledge of God through studying the Scriptures together.
This past Fall through studying Elijah, we did some heavy lifting and looked in detail at Elijah’s example of “when faith catches fire.” Next, by focusing on Gratitude, we got stronger together by studying Biblical examples of those who expressed thankfulness to God in all things. By dissecting Psalm 23 word by word this past Winter, we added the significant weight of knowing Jesus is our Good Shepherd and resting in God’s promises. And most recently through studying the book of Esther together, even more weight was added as we considered one women’s strength and God’s plan for provision.
So, if you are a lady looking to add some weight to your faith, commit to join us as WBS kicks off again in the Fall. We meet on Wednesday mornings or Thursday evenings. Our next year of studies include James by Joy of Living and Amos: An Invitation to the Good Life by Jennifer Rothschild. Watch the church announcements for registration info. There is a place for you, and you are invited.

Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry started 2025 with a three-day Women’s Conference hosted in the Trinity Family Life Center. What a wonderful conference it was! Our guest speaker was Dr. Katie Fruge’ with Texas Baptists. The ladies enjoyed not only a wonderful speaker but great Christian music, delicious food and Christian comradery throughout the weekend.
On April 26, ladies will have a wonderful opportunity to paint a cross on a canvas. Our visiting artist will be Elaine Capers, president of the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center. On June 7 there will be another opportunity to exercise your artistic talent by making a journal. Trish Wilson from Trinity will be the instructor for this course.
This Spring, Women’s Ministry will take up a diaper collection for the Pregnancy Resource Center. On November 8, plan on taking the church bus with us to Market Day in Boerne and having lunch (Dutch treat) at Peggy’s on the Green. Peggy’s on the Green will not disappoint! The lovely restaurant was built during the 19th century and has a beautiful wraparound porch. The atmosphere is casual, but not the experience. Farms in the surrounding locales of the Hill Country provide much of the food. Most Women’s Ministry events allow registration online; due to the size of our private room you must sign up in advance. Also, the quaint shops in Boerne are a delight for a wonderful shopping experience.
Women’s Ministry is a great place to “plug in” all year long at Trinity. Stay tuned for the information shared in Bible Study rooms, announcement guide, and the media presentations on Wednesday nights as well as Sunday mornings. We look forward to fellowshipping with you.

Women’s Bible Study – May 2024

What is your favorite Bible study? Recently, during a leadership training meeting, several ladies answered this question. With so many wonderful authors, speakers, books and topics, it was difficult to narrow it down to just one. So many studies have been richly meaningful in different ways to different ladies. After giving it some thought since that meeting, I would like to change my answer. My favorite Bible study is “the next one.”
Women’s Bible Study (WBS) at Trinity has a rich history of reaching women in our community. Studies have varied through the years, but the focus on learning and growing together has not. With much prayer and planning, a core team of ladies selects which study we will do together, typically a year in advance. Laying personal preferences aside, they truly seek the Lord for what He would have us study together. As long as the Word of God and hearts are open, each “next” study provides the opportunity to learn and understand more. And, in knowing more, taking next steps to apply God’s truth to our daily actions.
So what is the next one for WBS? We just wrapped up studying the Book of John as well as The End Times. Coming up next is our summer series on Jude: Contend Earnestly for the Faith by Debbie Taylor Williams. This 3-week study meets on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings, beginning July 10th. Registration and details are available on the church website. Next, will be our fall study on Elijah: Faith & Fire by Priscilla Shirer, followed by a focus on Gratitude: Giving Thanks to God in All Things leading up to the holiday season. There is a place for you, and you are invited. We’d love to have you join us for the next one!

Women’s Bible Study – May 2023

What a great year we are having in our Wednesday morning and Thursday evening Bible study classes! We continue growing in our numbers as we study God’s word together. Not only do we have our TBCK women in our study, but as we reach out beyond our church to our community, more and more ladies are coming to hear the message of the Gospel.
WBS has been studying the book of Acts, from the Joy of Living Bible Studies. Debbie Williams, our teaching leader, blesses us each week as she expounds on the message God has for us in each chapter of Acts. Debbie’s teaching videos are available on the TBCK website and You Tube channel.
Upcoming News:
- WBS will use Debbie Williams’ study of 2 Peter for the 4 weeks of July; Wednesday mornings at 10 AM and Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM.
- In the fall, our ladies will study John, from the Joy of Living Bible Studies. Debbie Williams has committed to be our teaching leader through April, 2024.
- The first part of John will be September 13 – November 21. We will finish the study of John in the spring of 2024, January 17 – March 27.
- We are planning a 4-week study in April 2024 using one of Debbie Williams’ studies: Jude or selected Psalms.
- Ask any lady in our WBS weekly study, and you will hear “we are blessed!”.

Women’s Ministry – April 2023

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of our faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1b-2
Women’s Ministry at Trinity is off to a great start in 2023. Our annual kick-off event was held February 5 in the Family Life Center. This year’s themed event was a High Tea complete with many different types of teas, finger sandwiches, cookies, and other sweet treats. Dr. Katie McCoy, Director of Women’s Ministry at the Center for Church Health Texas Baptists, was our keynote speaker. She framed her talk around our verse for the year found in Hebrews 12:1b-2 and wove the theme of perseverance into the lives of three Old and New Testament women: Hannah, Abigail, and Elizabeth.
Women’s Bible Study, under the leadership of Pat Hanna, is currently studying the Book of Acts. The July study will be 2 Peter, which was written by Debbie Williams.
Other upcoming events are a Lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and Shopping at La Cantera on April 22, a silk scarf craft on June 24 and a Back to School Prayer Breakfast in August.
Ladies, please join us as we study, pray, and fellowship together.
