TBC Men’s Ministry

by Josh Watkins

We have an amazing group of selfless men & women here at Trinity, many have been busy taking care of our local community and church members affected by the flood. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts!

This year we have had a few men’s prayer breakfasts where we spend time fellowshipping around some good food, have a person speak for about 15 minutes, then pray together and plan future men’s events.

At a recent prayer breakfast, Jeff Stone brought his drill and shared how to get involved in the Texas Ramp Project ministry. In June, we had a fishing trip to Lake Calaveras and a few men provided boats to fish out of. Some nice catfish were caught! In August, we cooked pancakes and sausage for the whole church and look forward to doing it again next year! We would love for you to be involved in our future events!

Watch the calendar for events that are coming up.
Future Events:
This Fall – Shotgun event!
October- Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Ways to get involved:
If you would like to help plan events for next year, please contact Josh or JD.
Please pray for our men’s ministry that it would be an encouragement to many men.

Men’s Bible Study – September 2025

by Mike Mullens

If you haven’t attended the Trinity Men’s Bible Study in a while or you’ve just recently become a member of our Trinity Baptist fellowship, you will find attending the Trinity Men’s Bible Study a great way to get to know other Christian men as we fellowship and study God’s word together.

The 2025 Fall session of the TBC Men’s Bible Study begins Thursday, September 4th. Class hours are 10:00 a.m. until noon and include a refreshment break about half-way through the class. Materials are free.

The topic for our twelve-week study this fall is Jesus Messiah, Son of God which will take us through a thorough study of Matthew, Mark and Luke. There are some differences between each of these three important New Testament books which we will investigate as we discuss them. The starting point of this class will be Jesus is without question the most Important man who has ever walked on this planet. He alone was all God and all man and now sits on the right hand of God the Father for all eternity. So, it encourages everyone who professes their faith in Him as the Son of God to discover everything we can about Him. Our study of these three Gospels will help all of us get to know Him better.

Trinity Men’s Bible Study

by Rick Boles

The Fall Men’s Bible Study is alive and well, meeting Thursday’s from 10:00am to Noon in the Youth Department’s Refinery. The study is being taught by a diverse group of well-qualified teachers and Bible Study leaders starting with our own Adult Discipleship Minister, J.D Templeton, assisted by Greek Bible Scholar, Dale Moreau, and Bible Study teacher, Mike Mullens.

We are studying the book of Exodus this fall and this book is filled with the challenges of the early Hebrew people. It teaches us, as Men in today’s culture, what we need to be– a light in a dark time and, to those who are observing, how we as Christian men react to the challenges of our time.

If you have not been involved, we encourage you to come and join in our study of the Book of Exodus. You will get to know and have fellowship with men who see a need to study God’s Word as they lead in their families as a spouse, parent and grandparent. Again, we are having a great time studying God’s Word and praying for one another in the challenges of life.

Men’s Ministry – September 2024

The Men’s Ministry has a mission: to do our best to reach the men of our church to become better examples of what it means to be a Godly man. We began in February with a strong turnout of men eager to serve their brothers in Christ and our Church. We knew that the road ahead was fairly uncharted as we set goals to host more men-oriented events to include their families. We used the Men’s Breakfasts to fellowship, share ideas, and plan those upcoming events. Though we have had some hurdles in the competition for space in people’s lives, we are determined to keep going in hopes others can make future events. Mark Clemons spoke on how we can be strong men in Christ and shared his experience on being a Missionary.

Our first small event in April was a Cowboy Camp Cookout. We had a great outdoor cooked meal and received some great men’s medical advice from Dr. David Sprouse. It will definitely be repeated for 2025!

Our August fishing event was a great scouting opportunity for a much larger event in the future. We didn’t walk away with any keepers, but we hope to find just the right bait for next time. The fellowship was the best catch of that day. David Clarke

In the last year, I have enjoyed being a part of Trinity’s “moMENtum” Men’s Ministry. About a year ago, my son Ben and I were invited to a men’s breakfast at a local church; we attended and were inspired to start our own Trinity version. Our times of fellowship have been encouraging, and we hope that next year our men’s group will become even stronger. I am glad to have opportunities for my son to be around other spiritual men. Coming together as men of faith will make us stronger in the Lord. We are looking for some men to become ambassadors for moMENtum, inviting other men to participate and be a part in planning future events. This will strengthen our men’s ministry.

On October 18 & 19, we will have a men’s retreat, Rock Solid Men. Jerry Canupp of Man in the Mirror Ministries is our guest speaker. All ages are welcome!

Come join us! Josh Watkins

Men’s Bible Study

by Philip Meadow

Life is HARD!

Everything takes our time:  family (good and bad), everything that owns us.  And, as we get older, we have appointments (mostly doctors’ appointments!). Something is always taking our fleeting time. YET – on Thursday mornings at 10:00am there is peace and calm with learning and fellowship.  Come sit at the feet of Biblical masters, Bill and Dale as they lead us through GOD’s word.

Bill Parr was an ordinary, lost, heathen man, with Merchant Marine and Army experience until the LORD called him into the ministry. Once the LORD called, Bill went to seminary and became an ordained minister. Because of this background, Brother Bill can present GOD’s word so that an ordinary man can clearly understand it.  Dale Moreau has a background in the Hebrew text, helping us understand the how, what and why the scriptures were written.  Together, we cover the daily application and a deep understanding of GOD’s word.

The men’s Bible Study is open to all men.  We have men from other denominations, men that are engineers, men that own local businesses, men that work at local businesses, lawyers, teachers, salesmen, and a lot of men that are retired.  But, on Thursday mornings we are all ordinary men, learning about GOD’s word, sharing our prayer needs, our stories, our love of GOD’s word, and    always some great cookies and coffee!  GOD’s word says he wants you to join with other believers and grow in knowledge and wisdom so that when you share GOD’s word, you are more confident in your understanding of His word.

So, men, I encourage you to try something easy, and worth the time. Come to the Men’s Bible Study Thursday mornings at 10:00 in The Forge (behind the TBC café), to enjoy the fellowship and be filled with cookies, coffee, and knowledge!

Texas Chainsaw Ministry

by Rick Boles

The Texas Chainsaw Ministry is a Disaster Relief Ministry that ministers to those in need following hurricanes, tornadoes, and Ice Storms. Our Ministry partners with the Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief. Our Ministry provides training on a regular basis so those who volunteer can be prepared to take trees off houses, other structures and can also remove trees and debris that block access to homes during disasters. Our Ministry is fully operated by volunteers who have a calling to meet those needs but, more importantly, use those disasters as opportunities to share Jesus Christ with those who may not have a relationship with the Lord.

God has been faithful to provide the equipment we have, from chainsaws, to a man lift, as well as a Skid Steer. Our equipment trailer has not only saws but ropes, pulleys, and other rigging equipment to be able to remove trees and limbs off structures so that the structures aren’t damaged any further.

Over the last year and into the first part of this year our Ministry has served in these ways:

A team worked in the Columbus Texas area, removing debris from a house that burned down.

We worked an Ice Storm in South Austin for seven days with six members of our team. In disasters such as this, our team sleeps in church Sunday School rooms and our meals are provided by a Disaster Relief Food Service team.

Currently, four of our team members are working at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment cutting trees to assist in renovation projects the camp has planned. They also remove limbs that could affect current buildings as well as clean up any damage caused by wind storms.

We also do some local work for people who are unable. This includes people with severe health issues, those who are widows, those who do not have insurance, and poor people who can’t afford to deal with tree problems. It is important that we not get too involved in too many local trimming projects because our main purpose is Disaster Relief.

We appreciate the support provided by our church family and staff.
