• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing.
• Cleans bathrooms, check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
• Vacuums/shampoo carpets and cleans/strip and wax floors.
• Empties all wastebaskets and collect trash around church and offices.
• Unlock and lock rooms as needed.
• Set-up and tear down tables and chairs based on calendar instructions or drawings.
• Open and close buildings daily, ensuring that lights are turned on and off at appropriate times.
• Cooperate with other custodians in completing jobs.
• Performs additional duties as directed by supervisor or Minister of Business Administration.

Custodian Requirements

• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb an 8 ft. ladder.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, push, pull, reach, lift, and carry objects.
• Generates a sense of hospitality by his/her very presence; communicates a sense of availability, warmth, openness, and approachability.
• Establishes good working relationships; works well with people at all levels; considers the impact of his/her actions on others; uses diplomacy and tact; and is approachable.
• Flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.
