Navigate – October 2025

What’s next?

Many young adults are asking this question on a daily basis. They have not known life without instant information access. (remember Encyclopedia Britannica, anyone?) Research shows that media consumption provides similar dopamine rushes to those found in drug usage. Is there an answer to this question?

In this setting, our College and Young Adult Ministry seeks to answer the “What’s next?” question with a healthy spiritual life. On Sunday nights this happens at Navigate. This gathering provides a safe environment to ask the toughest questions of life. We encourage one another to do the hard work of spiritual disciplines. We worship through song and study God’s word with an eye toward practical daily application.

Navigate could benefit from “experienced” adults who are willing to pour their lives into these younger adults. Is God calling you to walk alongside young people in college or the work force? Call the Adult Discipleship office today and talk with JD to find your place of service! We have some bright “Navigators” who would love to learn from mature believers.

Our normal schedule is Sundays from 6:00-7:00 pm Pickleball, followed by worship and Bible study at 7:00.

Stitchers for Jesus Celebrate 10 Years

by Cheryll Overla

The Stitchers for Jesus celebrated their 10th Anniversary on September 3rd. Sue Stewart and Marvene Wallace visited a church in Arkansas that had a sewing ministry and after seeing what these ladies were doing, decided they would like to bring the idea home to the Trinity ladies. Ideas were shared, plans were made and soon the group was off and sewing. Of the original group that started, two ladies are still with us: Sue Stewart and Rita McFaddin.  In 10 years of the ministry, about 5000 dresses, many shorts sets, quilts, afghans, baby hats, walker tote bags, adult bibs and COVID face masks were made and distributed to various ministries around the world! As much as we are able to help others, all of the stitchers love this ministry and being able to do the things we love is a huge blessing to all of us.

Eagle’s Wings Home Group

The Kerrville central home group, called Eagle’s Wings, practices Christian community around a bible study through Right Now Media. Meets Mondays, 6 – 8 PM: Fellowship with a meal. Led by Chuck Coulter at 111 Kathy Drive, Kerrville. For more information, call Missy Coulter at 361.563.6080.

Eagle’s Wings is a home-based Bible study that meets in the home of Chuck and Missy Coulter. We meet on Monday evenings from 6 to 8pm. Around 6, we gather for a home cooked meal and fellowship. Chuck usually provides the main course and other group members bring sides and dessert. Enjoying a meal together allows us to visit and get to know each other better while also providing in reach for the needs of our group. We try to keep the group no larger than 12 as this provides for more intimacy. And we love celebrating birthdays!
We begin our Bible study around 7:00. The group as a whole chooses what we will study through Right Now Media, then confirms with JD. Once the subject matter is chosen, we do one session a week. We watch the video and have “lively” discussions using the study guide provided with the video. We break for the summer but continue to meet once a month in other group members’ homes for fellowship and a home cooked meal. This allows us to stay connected through the summer months. And yes! We Love to Eat!
Eagle’s Wings is very involved in meeting the needs of our neighbors and our community (outreach). A few of our group members build ramps for disabled and elderly. Others do home repairs for those who cannot afford to hire someone. A neighbor needed a stove, we networked, found one (free), picked it up and delivered it. We are also very involved with Mercy Gate Ministries. We network to help meet the needs of women entering the program and those graduating the program, and so much more!
I would encourage you to visit Bible Studies and Home Groups and find one to connect and serve with. It is amazing to witness the Hands and Feet of Jesus at work, as well as study His Word together while building lasting relationships!

TBC Men’s Ministry

by Josh Watkins

We have an amazing group of selfless men & women here at Trinity, many have been busy taking care of our local community and church members affected by the flood. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts!

This year we have had a few men’s prayer breakfasts where we spend time fellowshipping around some good food, have a person speak for about 15 minutes, then pray together and plan future men’s events.

At a recent prayer breakfast, Jeff Stone brought his drill and shared how to get involved in the Texas Ramp Project ministry. In June, we had a fishing trip to Lake Calaveras and a few men provided boats to fish out of. Some nice catfish were caught! In August, we cooked pancakes and sausage for the whole church and look forward to doing it again next year! We would love for you to be involved in our future events!

Watch the calendar for events that are coming up.
Future Events:
This Fall – Shotgun event!
October- Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Ways to get involved:
If you would like to help plan events for next year, please contact Josh or JD.
Please pray for our men’s ministry that it would be an encouragement to many men.
