Music Notes – February 2024

by Charlie Barganier

Welcome to 2024! I hope and trust your New Year is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe the first month of this year is over already!

The Worship Ministry of TBCK is back in full swing, of course, and we are looking forward to a wonderful year. The biggest project on the schedule right now is “The Victor”. Of course, this is my first time leading and being a part of this wonderful tradition, and I have had a great time learning the music and drama and all the moving parts. If you have never been a part of this moving production we would love for you to come join us. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have. There are any number of ways you could be involved and use your gifts and talents.

Looking forward to a wonderful year with our church family.

Music Notes – December 2023

Christmastime is here again! Our favorite time of year! Worship Ministry has been busy preparing for our Christmas programs!

First up, we have the Prime-Time Singers Christmas Cantata on Sunday,
December 10th at 5:00pm. Join us for a light-hearted, fun Christmas program featuring your holiday favorites. You’ll no doubt find yourself singing along!

Next, we have this year’s Christmas Worship Program, “Joy Has Dawned”. It will be an exciting presentation of music telling the story of Christ’s birth, featuring some new and some beloved traditional Christmas favorites presented by our Worship Choir, 8:30 & 9:45 Praise Bands. We are thrilled to have our Handbell Choir joining us also! Our Praise Kids, and our Trinity Worship Signers, will also be featured. Each group bringing their own flavor to our program.

Grab your family & friends and join us for this year’s Christmas Worship Program. You have two opportunities to join us, Saturday, December 16th or Sunday, December 17th at 7:00pm. You won’t want to miss it!

You know it just wouldn’t be Christmas at Trinity if we didn’t go out Caroling! Don your festive apparel and come with us as we spread some holiday cheer on Wednesday, December 20th at 6:00pm. There will be cookies and hot chocolate in the Family Life Center to follow.

Finally, Christmas Eve is on Sunday this year and we will have one service in the morning at 11:00am. We will have our usual two Christmas Eve services that evening, at 5:00pm and 6:30pm.

Take a moment, stop and reflect on what Christmas means: Jesus Christ is born! Treasure this season, make memories, and try not to get caught up in the stressful chaos of ‘to-do’ lists. Instead, enjoy the time spent with family and friends as you celebrate together.

Merry Christmas, Church Family!

Prime Time Singers – October 2023

by Doug Lusk

The Prime Time Singers is a family of people who love the Lord and who love to sing, and they are delighted to spread His word by doing something they enjoy so much.

Interim Choir Director Becky Doyle did a superb job last season in directing and helping the choir learn the songs they performed for people who might not otherwise have the chance to hear music live and in person.

This season the Singers will be directed by Charlie Barganier, Trinity’s new Minister of Worship. Lew King will continue as pianist/arranger. A number of his works are included in the group’s repertoire. Rehearsals are held at 10 am on Tuesdays and last about an hour and a half.

The first Sing Outs of the new season are tentatively scheduled for River Hill on September 26 and at Hilltop October 17. Participation in the 2023 Everlasting Choir Celebration is being considered and will be decided in October.

Prime Time Singers was pleased to welcome several new members recently and always has another chair available for more. They will gladly welcome you to join them in joyously singing about God’s love and grace.

Music Notes – August 2023

Christmas Preview Dinner Already??

Things are about to ramp up in the Worship Ministry as we begin preparations for the holiday season—starting with the Christmas Preview Dinner! If you have attended the Christmas Preview Dinner in the past, you know it’s typically a themed dinner event, that we enjoy food and fellowship while hearing the debut of our Christmas Cantata for the season!

This year’s theme is 1950s Sock Hop! Dig out your poodle skirt, slick back your hair, grab a friend, and join us August 27th in the Family Life Center at 6:00pm! Everyone is welcome. Be there or be square…

Worship Choir Returns! Wednesdays at 7:00pm

If you’re interested in joining the 11:00 service Worship Choir, your opportunity to jump in at the start of the season is rapidly approaching! Worship Choir starts back up August 23rd. Worship Choir sings at 11:00 service every Sunday, and typically sings more traditional anthems. Here’s hoping many of our Summer Singers ‘graduate’ to Worship Choir!

Early Bird? Check out the 8:30 Praise Choir

If you like to sing, but prefer an earlier service…. if seating charts aren’t your thing, and you like a little more laid-back atmosphere, then you would probably love singing with the 8:30 Praise Choir. The 8:30 Praise Choir sings more contemporary music than the Worship Choir. They meet Tuesdays at 6:00pm in the Worship Center. Call Stephanie in the Church Office if you’re interested in joining the Praise Choir.

“I will sing to the Lord all my life, I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” Psalm 104:33

Music Notes – June 2023

Hello Church Family!

Let me first say a HUGE Thank You to the folks of Trinity Baptist for the way you have welcomed me and my family. As with any move, there are lots of emotions and lots of moving parts, but you have already shown us a great deal of love and support as we follow God’s plan. I want to also say what a privilege it is to serve this church as Minister of Worship, and I look forward to what God has in store for us all. My first few weeks here have been spent getting to know people and faces and finding out all the great things already going on here, and I am excited to see how I fit into that and see what I can offer as I join this great ministry team.

I want to thank the Minister of Worship search team for everything they did to make this process easy and clear for me and my family. I know there was no shortage of ministers who would be honored to be a part of this church and ministry team, and I am thankful that God brought us together in His perfect will and timing. There is no other way to explain why I am here now.

Please continue to pray for us as we move through this transition from Saginaw to Kerrville, selling our home, searching for a new home, getting kids settled into new schools, and all the other details that come with a move. We know God has brought us this far and we know He has already worked all of those things out, but we want a continued sense of peace and comfort to cover all of it.

Here’s to what we hope will be a long and loving relationship as we move forward.

Traditions and New Beginnings

I am a huge believer in our Victor ministry but, I must admit, even I was intimidated at the seemingly daunting task of coordinating and putting together The Victor without Larry, or any worship minister for that matter. However, it has been a great lesson to trust God. It was His will for us to present The Victor, just as we have done annually for the past 11 years. And, He allowed it to happen. All of the pieces came together, as only He could do. I am so grateful God gave us this opportunity to present this special gift to our community. It is hard work, but it is so worth it, even if we reach just one person who doesn’t yet know Jesus. We are so thankful for all who prayed with us for everything involved with the presentation.

It is an exciting time here in the TBC Worship Ministry, as we prepare for our new Worship Minister, Charlie Barganier, to arrive! The view of a call weekend March 17-19 with Charlie and his family was a wonderful time of music and fellowship. It was a joy to work with him, and I know we are all looking forward to his arrival next month!

Music Notes – February 2023

by Carrie Overby

Did you know that 99.9% of all humanity have the same DNA? All that makes us is .01% different from each other. Wow!! Our unique character is such a tiny portion of our being.  All that to say…we are more alike than we realize!! God created each of us, that are Christ followers, to serve with Him to build lives and save souls! So how many of you are building lives and saving souls?

As I reflect on our church and people, I see many serving Jesus faithfully in so many areas: The Next Steps Room, Children’s Ministry, Youth   Ministry, Adult Ministry, Worship Ministry, Women’s and Men’s Bible Study, and the list goes on…

This year the Worship Ministry will continue to lead and serve with wonderful volunteers until we have new leadership in place. Most of you know that we have performed “The Victor” for over 10 years running.  Doing The Victor without Larry is daunting! But we are confident that God will   supply the singers, actors, and crew to pull this off once again! Victor Choir rehearsals started January 27th, but there is still plenty of time to jump in!

Suzanne is leading the drama again and she is already going full speed, but we need your help!

When faced with a daunting task, we must ask ourselves these questions.  Does this build lives? Will this save someone’s soul? I think we can all agree; Yes! Lives are touched and souls can be saved! Now ask yourself, ‘How can I help?’ In what way did God gift me to be a part of this?

Are you a singer? Actor? Can you help set up? Care for kids? Pray? Apply makeup? Greet? Help Judy in the kitchen? Help with tech/media? There is something for everyone to do.  God has gifted you to work in His Kingdom here on earth.  Will you serve Him?

Please volunteer to Stephanie Clarke in the Church Office and get the details. 830-895-0100.

God never returns our offerings void!
